Tour de Fleece, Day 1

It's here! It'shereitshereit'shere!!!!!!! Today is the first day of the Tour de Fleece, which, if there are still people out there who haven't heard me blathering about it for months, is a big huge worldwide (fiber) spin-a-long with the Tour de France bike racing thingy. I don't really follow biking. At all. But I do like spinning, and I do like massive social incentives to make me spin more.

So yeah! It's here! It starts today, July 2nd, and goes until July 24th with 2 rest days where we don't have to do anything if we don't want to. The main Ravelry group is here if you're interested.

Picture! Today, as I'm in you've-never-heard-of-it Montana (which is quite lovely, btw) I've been working with my drop spindle to keep up with the Tour.

It's about 2 oz of BFL/Silk noil in 'Cool' from The 100th Sheep, acquired through Jessa at the Estes Park Wool Market this year. This stuff is pretty awesome to work with. I think i'll be plying it back on its nubbly self and then...??? profit! heh.

This bit of spinning is relevant to my teams Hopelessly Overcommitted, Spindlers and Peloton. More on teams next time.

Are you doing any Tour de Fleecing?
