This yarn is actually a lovely teal, a bit darker than the first picture. These two lovely skeins shall become a Featherweight Cardigan, and possibly the first sweater-like object I've made. I say possibly because I have two or three other sweater patterns on my list, and I'm not sure which one will happen first. That will probably be decided after the yarn crawl, when I have the yarn for all of them! Muahahaha. I'm so excited, you have no idea.
I finally got around to taking pictures of my handspun shawl this weekend, when I wore it to our apple picking outing.
After blocking it gained 15" in width, and 5" in height. It is very warm, and I've been wearing it almost every day. It makes a nice scarf/bandana, too:
Oh, and if any of you are thinking about making applesauce, get lots of apples. I mean lots. From ~3 lbs of apples we got a small/medium sized bowl of apple sauce. One batch would would fill about 3/4 of a 3 cup tupperware container. It was much less than we expected, but still quite delicious. Also, Cortland apples seem to make the best sauce (compared to Macoun's only).
